Taylor-Winfield is pleased to announce an innovation in manufacturing, MODULAR WELDING.
Are you resistance welding with a standard floor model welder or custom engineered weld system? Do you accept changeover downtime as a penalty for being a medium volume parts supplier?
Is your robot cell at full capacity? Flexible but slower than a dedicated hard tooled system. Would you care to hold onto your money rather than investing in equipment not in production use? If the answer to
the above questions is Yes, then read on. It’s time for you to “Experience” MODULAR WELDING, YOUR ANSWER TO INCREASED QUALITY AND PRODUCTIVITY.
- The sturdy “Base Unit” supports: air, water, plumbing & manifolds, valves, electrical secondary connection devices, secondary circuit, up to three (3) welding
transformers, light curtain, weld control, AB SLC 5/04 PLC processor, AB Panel-View w/HMI, circuit breaker, air lock out, hard guarding of three sides including sensors. All high quality components.
- The versatile Tooling Module
is the key to this innovative system. Part locators, tooling Poka-Yoke weld tooling, air couplers (utility & secondary base connection), part sensors, auto feeding of weld nuts & studs, auto unloading, multiple weld positions, smart tooling.
The operator simply rolls out the module on a cart, rolls in a new module, slip in the shop pins, the HMI indentifies-auto sets the program, production resumes in less than 6 minutes.
ADVANTAGES:
- Operator changeover, no tools required, smart tooling re-sets parameters.
- Part tooling can be serviced off-line by the tool room, no alignment at the machine
- More parts per hour, typically 3 times faster than a robot, 1 sec. per weld vs 3 for robot.
- Maintenance, engineering changes off line, minimum floor space 62”W x 76”L x 78”H.
- Modular Welding is suited for JIT production, Lean Manufacturing
, machine layout and shortening setup time, mutli-function workers, visible control and smart system or Kaizen.
- Less upfront capitol investment, a single base unit can be used for pre-qualify runs, while the Tooling Modules are debugged and qualified. Base units are standard and available
later.
